Testimonials

Our mom enjoyed her time at Kinship Pointe Wayne and was so appreciative of the care she received!! Our family couldn’t agree more. The compassion showed by all staff, especially during her last few days was so appreciated by our family!

Mark Hummel, son of Vera Hummel

Everyone has been so friendly, always speaks to you and calls you by name. They work really hard to come up with things to do. I enjoy the music that comes to entertain us. No complaints from me.

I retired two years ago so it could have been for me to live without a purpose but here at Kinship Pointe Wayne they have a volunteer program that we can work in the patio garden and deliver the mail to the residents. Their service and care we get here by the staff is excellent and they are an encouragement to us residents every day.

We are truly blessed to be part of Kinship Pointe at Wayne. It was meant for us to be here.

Vern and Jan Kamrath

Our mother Donella Johnson moved into Independent Living 2015. We have experienced nothing but great service from Kinship Pointe employees. If mom didn’t show up for dinner they would check on her to see if she was okay. If she needed anything they would make sure her needs were taken care of.

Mom moved to Assisted Living April 2019. The caring service has not changed. Mom is receiving the best care they can give her. We have found the community to be genuinely caring and loving. They show us that our loved ones matter. Kinship Pointe is a family. If we have questions they answer them quickly. Even though we do not live at the community we are still considered family.

Kinship Pointe is safe and secure. We are happy Mom lives at Kinship Pointe.

Alden Johnson, son of Donella Johnson

My Mom has been a resident at Kinship Pointe for almost 2 years now in assisted living. She has a nice room set up like her living room at home so felt comfortable for her from the beginning. Everyone at the community is very helpful to her and are there if she needs anything. They are willing to listen if we ask something of them and to help in any way they can. It is such a relief to us to have our Mom where we know she is taken care of especially now during the Covid outbreak when we can’t be there with her.

Thank you everyone at Kinship Pointe for all you do!

Karissa and her team as well as all the other employees of the community go out of their way to make sure your loved one is cared for efficiently.

Over 4 years ago, my mother fell in her home and broke her hip. Following her surgery and rehab, we knew she would not be able to return to living alone in her country home. She chose to go to Kinship Pointe Independent Living in Wayne. She has never looked back. Today, at age 101 years, she remains happy with her decision. Kinship Pointe is home.

Kinship Pointe at Wayne,

Thank you so much for the loving care you gave our parents. Mom and dad moved into your assisted living facility on November 11, 2019. Mom passed away on December 28, 2019.

The health care industry is struggling to transition from institutional to a person-centered care model. A person-centered care model bases health care on the resident’s needs and approaches residents with dignity and respect. Mom’s health needs made caring for her challenging at best. After returning from a short hospital stay for pneumonia, mom had a catheter, oxygen and was incontinent. Add these health concerns to her pressure sore and lack of physical strength, one could easily conclude that a skilled nursing home, not assisted living, would be the best care model. Not so! Brookdale Wayne assisted living provided excellent care, consistently adjusting as mom’s needs changed. Because of mom’s failing health, family members were with her 24/7. Without exception, we observed staff ALWAYS treating mom as a person, not a “job”. Each time family asked Kinship Pointe to change mom’s care model, they implemented the changes without exception. Lastly, food is an important part of resident life. This not would be lacking without recognizing Kinship Pointe’s great food quality and excellent food service staff. Kinship Pointe at Wayne is a shining example of person-centered care.

The folks moved from a different assisted living facility to Wayne to be closer to family. In addition to mom’s care, one of the most important factors in the move was for our parents (married 67 years) to be in the same apartment. This request did not “fit” the usual model. Nonetheless, the management team worked with us to find a solution that worked. Our parents lived in the same apartment until mom’s passing. Yet another example of Kinship Pointe providing excellent person-center care.

Thank you seems inadequate to express the gratitude our family has for Kinship Pointe at Wayne.
