KINSHIP POINTE, McCOOK

After living alone for a long time after my husband was gone and my children were all married with families of their own, I realized that I needed a change in my life. I found that housework and cooking for myself were becoming increasingly difficult, so I investigated my options and decided to move to Kinship Pointe even though I was skeptical. Now, I am in my sixth year here, and definitely think of it as my home. I am enjoying the luxury of having my apartment cleaned weekly, having good balanced meals, and knowing there is help available if needed. Optional daily activities and special events are available. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I have made many friends through these years. At the same time, we all have respect for the privacy of each other. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend Kinship Pointe to anyone.

Feels like home! When it was first build, I was a cook here. Then my mother lived here as well! I enjoy all the people around here and I don’t have to eat alone. Meals are great and staff are so caring. I enjoy all the activities especially Bingo. I know I’m well taken care of here.

Moving to Kinship Pointe was one of the best decisions we ever made. The apartments are large and plenty of storage space. The food is delicious. We have very fun activities of all kinds that Mindy plans every month. Before Covid all kinds of entertainment came to perform every month. I am confident that will happen again sometime soon. Free rides to Dr. appointments. Someone to clean our apartment every week, plus they even change your sheets. We feel safe and secure. All the fellow residents are so friendly and nice. I would recommend anyone to move here.

My experience living at Kinship Pointe for the last 13 months has been very enjoyable. I feel safe here and all the staff are so nice and helpful. I have a beautiful and comfortable apartment. The meals are delicious and have variety. I enjoy the many activities, including the exercise class. I am very happy I chose to live here in my senior years; and all my family are happy I am here, rather than living alone.

I love the exercise classes and all the entertainment. The staff does a great job in encouraging and updating us each day. The highlight of my day is having meals with my friends that I’ve met living here. All the staff are friendly and kind, and the nursing staff has always been there for me when an emergency arises.

I’ve recently started using the transportation services and it’s so nice having this service when you are unable.

I’ve lived here for 4 years and I’ve really enjoyed my time here.

When I moved into Kinship Pointe McCook, it was a new chapter in my life. It was the first time I had lived alone for 70 years and in a new location. Even though I didn’t know anyone, the staff and residents made me feel welcome immediately.

There are many activities I enjoy – church services, Bible studies, exercise classes and bingo to name a few. I really like the music entertainers that come to sing or play for us.

The food is pretty good – not always the way I would prepare it – but good. The ice cream machine is a definite plus!

My room is large and comfortable. I like the full kitchen because baking is something I still enjoy. I really like the sliding glass doors leading out to my little patio. It was special to me that I could bring my cat with me, we often sit on the patio together when weather permits.

And this is my home and I’m happy here.

I appreciate everything the staff does for me. They are always there for me and help me accomplish my agenda items. I love the brain exercise activities that is provided here. The staff is always prepared and really puts thought into what we will enjoy. I just really appreciate the staff.
