TESTIMONIALS

When I moved into Kinship Pointe McCook, it was a new chapter in my life. It was the first time I had lived alone for 70 years and in a new location. Even though I didn’t know anyone, the staff and residents made me feel welcome immediately.

There are many activities I enjoy – church services, Bible studies, exercise classes and bingo to name a few. I really like the music entertainers that come to sing or play for us.

The food is pretty good – not always the way I would prepare it – but good. The ice cream machine is a definite plus!

My room is large and comfortable. I like the full kitchen because baking is something I still enjoy. I really like the sliding glass doors leading out to my little patio. It was special to me that I could bring my cat with me, we often sit on the patio together when weather permits.

And this is my home and I’m happy here.

I’ll start with what I liked when I first walked into Kinship Pointe Seward over 5 years ago. It was so nice and clean and smelled so good Cleanliness is very important to me.

Then I met the staff and found them to very friendly, kind and caring, I can truthfully say, “I love them all.” Whenever I go to them with a question or concern, they always stop what they are doing, and give me a listening ear. They go right to work on y concern and I appreciate that. They are not “snippy,” I can joke and have fun with them too.

There are a lot of various activities which you can choose from to be come involved and stay active. Also learn to know the other people who live here, and soon you feel like one big family.

Our mother Donella Johnson moved into Independent Living 2015. We have experienced nothing but great service from Kinship Pointe employees. If mom didn’t show up for dinner they would check on her to see if she was okay. If she needed anything they would make sure her needs were taken care of.

Mom moved to Assisted Living April 2019. The caring service has not changed. Mom is receiving the best care they can give her. We have found the community to be genuinely caring and loving. They show us that our loved ones matter. Kinship Pointe is a family. If we have questions they answer them quickly. Even though we do not live at the community we are still considered family.

Kinship Pointe is safe and secure. We are happy Mom lives at Kinship Pointe.

Alden Johnson, son of Donella Johnson

“My parents and my Aunt (who is single and is like another mother to me) moved into Northridge in February 2012. My siblings and I live in Colorado and Iowa so have not been around for daily care, although we’ve been able to get back to Kearney about once a month over the years. My mother passed away in 2017 and dad died last June. My Aunt is still a resident there (97-1/2 years old).

I, and my family, have consistently been more than satisfied with the staff there; and there has been relatively low turnover during those 8 years. Seeing the same faces is so valuable for older people—and for the family. But the most important thing is that they are all extremely competent, responsive, and kind. It has never been so evident as these last few weeks during the COVID-19 crisis. We receive regular communication from Amanda outlining what’s going on there and supplying copies of any memos sent out to the residents so we know what they know. And they are offering to provide additional services under the circumstances.

But even during “normal” times, my siblings and I have always been very happy with the facility. I feel that my opinion should be considered particularly credible since I’ve had such a long-term experience with this staff. I just wanted anyone considering a place to live to be aware of our experience. This is a stellar group of people: from the head of the community to the kitchen, maintenance, front office, and caregiver staff.”

ASSISTED LIVING

Assisted living helps seniors live each day to the fullest. It’s a great option for seniors who savor their independence but still need a little assistance with daily activities like dressing, bathing, housekeeping, and managing medications. Not only does it provide peace of mind, but also it gives you more time to invest in your favorite people and hobbies.
